Riverside Class of 1980 Top 50 Songs
We’re counting down the Top 50 songs that filled our radios, record players, car stereos, bedrooms, basements, dances, parties, and long drives through Northeast Ohio during our years at Riverside High School.
No list is ever perfect, especially when you’re trying to capture the soundtrack of an entire class. But we think this one gets pretty close: the songs we heard on WMMS, M105, WGCL, CKLW, and wherever else the signal could reach us.
We’ll reveal one song each month on the 9th. Each countdown entry will feature a short tease about the song, followed by an introduction from a different Riverside classmate.
The countdown ends on June 9, 2030, exactly 50 years after the Riverside High School Class of 1980 graduated.
Fifty songs. Fifty months. One long ride back through the music that helped shape who we were.
